Product tips and editorial pitches
Found something brilliantly weird? Show us.
OddityMall welcomes unusual product tips from inventors, designers, brands, publicists, retailers, and readers with a suspiciously good eye for internet oddities.
Send the official product link, the useful facts, and the reason it deserves a place in the world’s most interesting shopping aisle.
Pitch the product
Submit a product to OddityMall
This form goes directly to [email protected] as a structured editorial submission. A submission is free and does not guarantee coverage, a backlink, publication date, or placement.
The OddityMall test
What kinds of products are a good fit?
There is no magic category and no required level of usefulness. We are looking for a clear idea that makes somebody pause, understand the appeal, and immediately think of a person who needs to see it.
Unexpectedly useful
It solves a real problem with a mechanism, form factor, or bit of thinking people have not seen a thousand times.
Visually surprising
The design, scale, movement, material, transformation, or sheer presence makes the product easy to understand and hard to forget.
Giftable or funny
It is specific enough to feel personal, clever enough to spark a reaction, or funny without depending on cruelty, shock, or a complicated explanation.
Ambitious and unusual
Robots, strange vehicles, transforming furniture, outdoor engineering, enormous builds, and products created with unreasonable commitment are welcome.
A strong submission
Give us facts we can verify
- The official product, manufacturer, retailer, or active campaign URL.
- A plain-language explanation of what the product is and does.
- Current price, availability, regions, or launch timing when known.
- Accurate specifications, dimensions, materials, compatibility, or limitations.
- A press kit or image folder containing media you are authorized to share.
- A short explanation of what makes it different from ordinary alternatives.
A weak submission
Do not make us solve a mystery
- A homepage link with no product name or explanation.
- “This will go viral” presented as the entire product description.
- Unverifiable superlatives, invented scarcity, or unsupported performance claims.
- Image attachments with no permission or source information.
- Requests to copy another publication’s story or media without authorization.
- Repeated follow-ups that contain no new information.
What happens next
How product submissions are reviewed
1
Intake
The structured pitch reaches the editorial submission inbox with its source links and context intact.
2
Fit check
We consider originality, reader interest, visual appeal, usefulness, giftability, and whether there is enough credible information.
3
Research
If selected, the team verifies the maker, product details, media, price, availability, and important limitations.
4
Editorial decision
OddityMall decides whether, when, and how to cover the product. Submission does not create an obligation to publish or respond.
Submission FAQ
Questions about submitting a product
Does it cost money to submit a product?
No. There is no fee to use the editorial product submission form. A free submission is not a promise of coverage, placement, timing, or a link.
Does every submitted product get featured?
No. OddityMall receives more ideas than it can cover. Products are selected based on editorial fit, reader value, originality, available evidence, timing, and the ability to tell a clear and accurate story.
Can publicists, agencies, retailers, or distributors submit products?
Yes. Select the relationship that best describes you and identify the maker or brand clearly. Please provide official sources and disclose material relationships relevant to the pitch.
Can a reader submit a product they did not create?
Absolutely. Choose “Reader who found it,” link to the official or most authoritative product page you can find, and explain why it caught your attention.
Can I upload images or attachments?
The form intentionally accepts links instead of file uploads. Share a stable press-kit or media-folder URL and make sure the people submitting the material have permission to provide it for editorial review and potential publication.
Can I submit a crowdfunding campaign or prototype?
Yes, if the campaign or prototype has enough public information to evaluate. Clearly state its development stage, campaign dates, estimated delivery, known limitations, and the difference between confirmed facts and future plans.
Will OddityMall reply to my submission?
Not necessarily. The team may contact you when it needs clarification, source material, image permission, updated availability, or another verified detail. A lack of reply is not an invitation to resubmit the same pitch every day.
Where does the form send my submission?
The completed form is emailed to [email protected] with a product-submission subject and a reply-to address matching the email you provide.
