This Dad Made an Incredible Optimus Prime Semi Truck Bunk Bed For His Kids Birthday

There's nothing we love more than a good bunk bed! Such is the case with a few unique bunk beds we've featured in the past, including the basketball bunk bed, the giant doll house bunk bed, and of course this incredible transforming bunk bed that converts into a sofa! This time around it's a bunk bed that's made to look like an Optimus Prime Semi-Truck, and it might be one of the coolest beds any truck loving kid could as for!

The unique semi-truck bunk bed was hand crafted by artist Dave Schaeffer, and was actually made to give to his son on his 4th birthday! Dave made the semi-truck bunk bed with incredible details, including a corrugated metal siding, working headlights on the truck cabin, and everything else you'd expect to see on an actual semi-truck!

Dave made the fender forms in Styrofoam and then fiberglass, along with a wooden structure for the semi-truck cabin and trailer!

Dave posted the Optimus Prime semi truck bunk bed photos for his son on his Flickr account which garnered tons of attention, along with plenty of questions on how he made it and if he's offering the plans for sale anywhere.

The bed part of the semi truck bunk bed, is just a simple wooden bunk bed frame, with the incredible details of the Optimus Prime semi-truck placed over it.

"My boy wasn't happy until I added the logo and the blue stripe. I also had to add a fender and functional headlights. Then the air cleaner. Also pinstriped the flames in silver. It will probably never end..." It seems as though Dave kept adding details to the Optimus Prime bunk bed until his son was satisfied with the results!

The side wall of his kid's bedroom was then made into an incredible mural with Optimus Prime on it! I think it's safe to say his kid loves Transformers!

With Dave having not responded to anyone asking for plans or instructions to make their own Optimus Prime semi-truck bunk bed, it's safe to say the secret ends with him. Unfortunately, until someone else attempts their own version of the trucking bunk bed, we may be left with just a one-of-a-kind version sitting in Dave's kids bedroom!
