Those details are worth checking while you are still planning the desk, when changing the plan involves moving a pencil rather than crawling behind a monitor with a flashlight between your teeth.

The appeal here is the combined setup. If you only want a higher monitor, the lighting will be extra equipment to consider. If you already want a riser, a desk light, and a colored backdrop, putting them together is a tidier proposition. It also avoids the familiar decorating process where one new accessory somehow leads to six little boxes and a cable nobody can identify.
