The SureSwivel dog tether keeps your dog's leash, or rope from getting wrapped around a tree, or pole that it is tied to. Although this still doesn't solve the problem of your dog getting inter-twined within objects around him/her, so until they invent a way to do that, I'll stick with the tree.
