This Modern Dog House Is Made With Grass Ramp, and An Automatic Water Faucet On Top

We've featured some pretty cool dog houses in the past, including a modern dog kennel made from glass, an underground dog house that keeps them warm in the winter (or cool in the summer),  and even a dog kennel built right into a modern credenza. But this incredible new outdoor dog house that we came across might just take the cake.

It was built by Studio Schicketanz, an architecture, interior design, and consultancy firm based in Carmel, California, and it's one of the most unique and modern dog houses you may ever see. How happy would your pooch be stepping his paws into this masterpiece?!

The incredible modern outdoor dog house was made with a natural grass ramp that allows your dog to walk up to the top of the dog house where integrated dog dishes can hold water and food, along with an integrated automatic dog water faucet that will turn on when your dogs nose gets close to the faucet.

The coolest design aspect is that since the top of the dog house is slanted, the excess runoff water from the faucet will just make its way back down the grass ramp and into the ground meanwhile keeping the grass on the ramp and top of the dog house nicely irrigated and watered.

There's even a hidden storage drawer that's placed on the side of the grass ramp where you can store dog toys, dog leashes, food, treats, and more. Above the ramp on the side of the house is even a little window where your dog can stick his little snout out of to get a different view than the front door/window. Plus the little side window allows for optimal air flow through the inside of the dog house.

The front of the modern dog house also swings open so you can easily clean the inside when needed, and instead of standing on dirt or open ground on the inside of the dog house, your dog stands on soft rubberized floors similar to what you'd find at a children's playground. The interior of the dog house even features a solar powered fan to keep it extra cool on the those hot summer days.

The modern dog house was designed by Studio Schicketanz and built by Lewis Builders.

Unfortunately the unique grass ramp dog house was a one-off piece with no plans for mass production.

The dog house was put up for auction with the proceeds going to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for Monterey County.

The design behind the modern dog house follows the philosophy of the design studio, which is to weave together "landscape, architecture, and interior design with a focused emphasis on livability".

The two-story dog house was designed with a grass ramp to encourage your dog to interact with the structure as much as possible.

The dog house even has a built-in floor drain hidden behind the front wall for easy soil cleanup.

The grass ramp dog house ended up raising the most amount of money out of all of the item being auctioned off in the the Canine Cottages Fundraiser.

The side drawer on the dog house is perfect for storing all of your dogs outdoor toys, treats, and leashes.
