Depending on the type of person you are, there's nothing worse than having to cook a meal for all of your guests. If it was up to me, I'd require all of my party guests to bring their own meal, or perhaps just stay home to begin with. None-the-less I have a wife that thinks that's a bad idea, and is no way to keep or gain friends... If you like having guests over, yet don't feel like manning the BBQ to cook all of their food, this incredibly unique octagon grill table might be for you. It lets everyone cook their own meal right in front of them.
Sizes: 6 seats | 8 seats
It's called the JAG grill, and it's shaped like a octagon, so it can fit up to 8 people with each spot have it's very own BBQ grill in front of their table area. On top of each person having their own grill area, there's also a community grilling area in the middle of the table that's raised up higher than the rest of the grill table.
The community grill table is heated using coals. Just remove the grill plates and scatter your heated coals throughout the entire bottom of the grill area. Then put the grill plates back on and start grilling. Each seat on the table has their own little handle to remove the grill plate add or move the coals beneath their cooking area.
The Jag Grill Table was invented by Gert Coetzer, a man originally from South Africa, who came to America and noticed how fast-paced their lives were. He created the grill table to help build relationships and memories, and slow down meals to enjoy them a bit more. He also came up with the name of the table (JAG) by taking the first letter from each one of his family: J for Jolene (daughter), A for Amanda (wife), and G for Gert.
A perfect way to cater to guests with different tastes or cooking requirements, the community grilling table comes in two different sizes, including a smaller 6 sided table, along with a larger 8 sided table. The 6 sided table will run you around $1,600, whereas the 8 sided grill table will run you around $2,500, along with shipping costs of around $150 or $250.
The 6 sided grill table has just 1 large community grilling area, whereas the large 8 sided grill table has individual grill areas in front of each seat, with then a larger community grill area in the center of the table. Once done with eating, you can then remove the grill grates and convert the center area into a bonfire for toasting marshmallows, or just relaxing in front of the fire.
The 8 sided grill table measures 7 feet wide x 3 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 350 lbs, whereas the smaller 6 sided grill table measures 4 feet wide x 2 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 105 lbs.
Upon delivery, the JAG grill table will require some assembly, which will take around 30-45 minutes for the smaller version, and 60-90 minutes for the larger version. They ship the JAG grill tables to both USA and Canada for set prices, though if you live elsewhere you can contact them for a custom shipping quote.
The community grill table features removable stainless steel grill racks, a side door access for cleaning the grill area, adjustable legs on the table for stabilizing it on uneven surfaces, removable table surfaces for easy cleaning, along with a removable grill dome for quick and easy access to the coals, and an easy way to convert it into a open fire pit.
