The 2xMarine is an Expanding Pontoon Boat That Doubles In Size Once On The Water

These are strange times. With everything that’s going on, I think I’m just about ready to pack my bags and hit the high seas with a plan to never return to the drudgery and stress of dry land. Luckily, that dream is more achievable than ever before, thanks to high-tech water-crafts like the one person mini boat or the personal submarine.

While those inventions are perfect for the oceanic traveler that wants to be left alone, sometimes you need to throw a party to blow off some steam or invite your in-laws over for a tense get-together. For any aquatic occasion that requires a little extra breathing room, this ingenious watercraft should do the trick. It’s my pleasure to introduce the 2x Marine, a pontoon boat that will expand to twice its size at the press of a button!

Just imagine you’re having a quiet gathering on your pontoon boat and one of your friends shows up with a keg of fireball whiskey. Welp, that means it’s time to turn this book club into a booze cruise.

Tap the expand button and the 8.5-foot pontoon deck will double its size in seconds, offering plenty of room for an impromptu dance floor.

The designers of the expanding pontoon boat have also added a retractable awning to protect your skin from the harsh rays of the sun, and they added built-in LED lights so you can keep the party going well into the night.

The fact that the boat starts at such a small size means that you won't have to fill out any additional paperwork or upgrade your trailer system to take the massive craft out to the lake.

The expanding pontoon boats are fitted with twin 350 HP motors, and can hit speeds of up to 45 mph, even when fully expanded! Though, they also state that the boat can be fitted with any motor between 115 HP to twin 350 HP motors.

It makes you wonder what took the pontoon industry so long to make expanding boats happen, since campers and RVs have been doing this kind of thing for decades! I guess it's a little more complicated when water is introduced to the scenario!

In its smallest form, the expanding pontoon measures just 8.5 feet, and when fully expanded, it measures 17.5 feet.

The brilliant thing about the expanding pontoon is that when it's back into its smallest form, it fits perfectly onto a standard pontoon trailer to easily take it in and out of the water!

When the 2xMarine facebook page first posted the video of the expanding pontoon boat, it quickly went viral, gaining up to 3.7 million views at 40k shares.

The 2xMarine pontoon even has built-in LED lighting for a super cool effect when boating at night, or for even just hanging out on the boat when docked!

The giant canopy expands right with the boat, and can be closed up when you'd like to get some sun!

The 2xMarine expanding pontoon is of course big enough to basically have a party right on the water, and why not throw a BBQ on the platform while you're at it, as you'll have more room than you'll know what to do with.

When you look at the 2x Pontoon next to a regular pontoon, you realize how we've been living in the stone ages! We didn't know what we were missing until now!

The rear of the expanding pontoon features the dual or single outboard motors, a storage container, rod holders, an easy entry/exit ladder for the water, and a perfect spot for your BBQ!

When they first hit the scene, the expanding pontoon boats were selling at prices starting at $40,000, with other customizations that you can tack on as well that'll cost you a bit more.

Though, by the looks of their website, it appears that the manufacturers of the high-tech party barge temporarily suspended their website.

There's no word on what happened to 2xMarine, as we couldn't find an update on any of their social media pages. Whether it was due to the pandemic, or perhaps for other reasons... Lets just hope they resume operations soon so I can get an expanding pontoon!

Maybe 2xMarine decided to drift off into the sunset (like Kevin Costner in Waterworld) before I could buy one for myself. Oh well, I’ll hold off on planning my aquatic ragers for now, with hopes that they return one day.
