We’ve been getting a lot of snow here in the United States over the past few weeks, and it got me thinking about all of the clever ways we can shred the powder nowadays (that’s some snowboarding lingo, in case you didn’t know). Not only has modern technology given us fancy innovations like the electric Arosno E-Trace snow bike or the totally insane Bobsla go-cart slash snowmobile hybrid, but we’ve also seen practical inventions like the Track N Go system, which literally converts your truck into a snowmobile.
Right in between those two categories, you’ll find the MTT-136 All-Terrain Electric Sled, a heavy duty vehicle that will get you wherever you need to go, regardless of the terrain or snow conditions.
The MTT is basically a mix between a sled, a snowmobile and a bulldozer. MTTs can cover any terrain with ease, from snow and ice to mud and sand, making it ideal as a rescue vehicle or for accessing remote areas that you couldn’t reach via roads.
The electric sled is totally battery powered and able to cover up to 105 kilometers (or over 65 miles) on a single charge. Depending on the battery you purchase, you can even recharge the vehicle completely in only 3 hours.
The electric track machine can reach top speeds of 24 miles an hour, which isn’t too shabby for a sled with such a low center of gravity.
The powerful electric sled comes with a strip of ultra bright LED headlights (3,000 lumens, which is quite a lot) so you can take it for a spin after dark. The electric battery also makes the vehicle almost completely silent to operate.
The MTT’s main function is for carrying heavy loads from point A to point B, even if point A is under several feet of snow and point B is submerged in a swamp.
If you’re towing something with the sled, the max capacity is a whopping 3,200 pounds on level ground, and 1,000 pounds if you’re off-road.
You can also place loads on top of the electric tank track machine, with a very respectable max weight capacity of 500 pounds, or even more if you combine 2 of the track locomotives together!
Interested in hearing more? Then let's talk dimensions. In total, the MTT-136 is 88 inches long, 23 inches wide, and 25 inches tall - a size that should be suitable for most environments, even the most narrow trails. Though from what we can tell from the incredible videos that they've made of the machine, it look like it can really just create it's own trails, as it blasts through brush and small trees!
The official website for the electric sled is loaded with helpful information, like an FAQ and videos so you can watch the MTT-136 in action (or check out the video below). Once you’re ready to buy, you can customize the vehicle to your heart’s content, adding features like a joystick control and a passenger-ready sled attachment.
If you just want the all-terrain electric sled without any of the bells and whistles, you can purchase one from the MTT website at a cost of $18,675!
The all terrain tank track machine can hold up to 3 6.0 kWh Li-ion batteries that can be instantly inserted and removed for quick charging and installation! These batteries don't come cheap though, as each extra battery will run you an extra 7k!
