While we're all living through this pandemic, for some it's all about still looking good and fashionable while still staying safe and protected. There are of course all sorts of fun and unique protective masks that you can get that turn you into a dog, monkey, or give you face tattoos. But then there's items like this giant surgical mask tote bag! Although it obviously does nothing to actually protect you from any virus, it does let show the world just how seriously you take protective measures. Plus, down the line it can serve as a good point of reference to remember these weird times we lived through during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The unique giant surgical mask tote bags are made and sold by Indonesian fabric company Arlie Percetakan Kain. They recently featured the protective mask tote bag on their Instagram page, and from what we can tell they are selling just the materials and plans to create your own funny face mask tote. So essentially they'll ship you the fabric and instructions, and you'll sew it together yourself.
Is the giant surgical mask bag more of a gimmick that actually useful for carrying stuff around? Perhaps. The bag is designed by taking one of the straps that normally go around your ear and using it as the shoulder strap, along with another ear strap that dangles on the other side of the bag (though there may be a way to tuck this inside or on the side of the bag while you're using it). Just like a normal tote bag there's an opening below the shoulder strap to store all of your stuff.
We reached out to the company that sells the giant surgical mask bag/plans and will update the article accordingly with pricing and more information about the tote bag if/when they reply.
(They mention that you can get the surgical mask tote bag in any fabric of your choosing, such as the fabric pictured above as an example)
In the comments of their Instagram post, they mention to send them a Direct Message (DM) on Instagram for information on ordering the fabric/plans for the tote bag.
