Camping is supposed to help you relax, which makes the traditional opening ceremony of wrestling twelve mysterious poles into a nylon envelope seem unnecessarily hostile. The Cube Explorer Pro Edition takes a different approach: inflate the frame, secure your shelter, and move into a surprisingly roomy fabric box. Your vacation can begin before someone announces that the instructions are definitely wrong.

Olive green Cube inflatable tent with extended awning

This inflatable family tent comes from Cube Airtent, and its big trick is replacing the main tent poles with an air-beam structure. The US store advertises inflation in about four minutes using the electric Turbo Pump. That is the pumping claim, though, not a promise that unloading, choosing a spot, anchoring everything, and arranging your pillow collection will take four minutes altogether.

Visually, it looks less like a little mountain and more like a portable room. The sides stand nearly upright, the doorway opens wide, and round windows give it the faint personality of a landlocked submarine. An exceptionally comfortable submarine, provided you bring the comfortable things yourself.

A tent you can actually stand around in

Cube advertises 107 square feet of interior space. Its published open dimensions are 9 feet 10 inches by 11 feet 6 inches by 6 feet 7 inches high. Those measurements describe a substantial shelter, with enough headroom to make getting dressed feel like a normal activity instead of an escape-room challenge.

The boxy shape matters as much as the numbers. Sloping tent walls often turn the edges of a floor into storage-only territory. Here, the more upright sides create a roomlike feel, so the usable space does not seem to retreat every time you sit up. It is a particularly appealing layout for campers who enjoy nature but have developed strong personal opinions about crouching.

The US lineup identifies the Pro as a four-person model, while other space claims on the site describe larger groups. For planning, four people and their actual sleeping equipment is the more useful starting point. Mattress dimensions, bags, and the amount of floor you want left for walking will decide how roomy it feels. A floor plan cannot negotiate with four enormous duffel bags.

The official photos show styled interiors with beds, rugs, chairs, and other camp furniture. Treat those as decorating ideas. The Pro package is a tent-and-accessories bundle; the photographic dream bedroom is not quietly folded inside the carry bag.

The main frame runs on air

Inside the fabric structure, welded TPU air beams provide the support. Cube lists 0.3-millimeter TPU with a protective outer sleeve, along with an inflation pressure of 5 PSI. It is a different kind of assembly: pump up the support structure rather than threading long poles through sleeves while the wind offers unsolicited assistance.

The brand says its air beams use separate chambers, includes a repair kit, and describes replaceable sleeves. That is useful ownership information for something whose central engineering idea involves holding air. It does not make the tent immune to damage, and the repair kit is worth understanding before a trip rather than during an increasingly philosophical evening at camp.

The Pro listing includes both a hand pump and an electric pump. Cube’s general site calls the Turbo Pump optional because it discusses other configurations too; the specific Pro bundle lists an electric pump as part of the package. The advertised manual inflation estimate is five to seven minutes, giving you a backup if the rechargeable pump needs attention.

Interior air beams and circular tent windows
  • Air-beam main structure: The tent body inflates instead of relying on a conventional set of long structural poles.
  • Electric and hand pumps: Both appear in the Pro package, with the electric option providing the headline inflation speed.
  • Extended awning: The Pro bundle adds sheltered space outside the doorway; the awning still uses supports and anchoring.
  • Internal and external groundsheets: Both are listed with the Pro edition.
  • Repair kit and carry bag: Included for maintenance and transport, with an oversized bag intended to make repacking easier.

Your campsite gets a front porch

The extended awning is one of the most useful parts of the setup. Cube lists it at about 8.2 by 9.84 feet, adding roughly 80 square feet of shelter outside the tent. It creates a separate spot for camp chairs or a table, so every activity does not have to happen beside the sleeping bags.

That distinction becomes valuable on a longer stay. Sleeping space can remain sleeping space, while the shaded area handles lounging and the important business of sitting down again after you have just stood up. The awning turns the tent’s front into a small outdoor living area without requiring a completely separate canopy.

Large openings and circular side windows provide opportunities for airflow and views. The brand also lists vents, cable pass-throughs, and a pocket for a portable cooler. A cooler or fan would be additional equipment; the tent itself is not a climate-controlled cabin. The outdoors continues to have opinions about temperature.

Big-room comfort has big-bag consequences

The advertised 66-pound weight settles the backpacking question rather quickly. This is a car-camping, base-camp, or glamping shelter. Carrying it from a vehicle to a nearby pitch is a very different proposal from hauling it up a trail, and the packed bag occupies a meaningful chunk of vehicle space.

Measure your cargo area before deciding that it will surely fit beside the cooler, folding chairs, and everything your family considers essential. The listed bag is more than three feet long. Even before bedding and furniture join the expedition, this tent is a substantial piece of luggage.

Cube says the carry bag is oversized by 30 percent to ease repacking. Anyone who has tried to return a tent to a bag apparently sized for its theoretical minimum volume can appreciate that. Extra room is welcome, although you still need to remove the air and pack the material properly.

The fabric specification and waterproof rating are manufacturer figures, not a promise that every storm becomes irrelevant. Site selection and correct anchoring still matter. Likewise, the awning’s advertised UPF 50+ rating describes the fabric’s sun protection; it does not turn an open campsite into an enclosed weatherproof room.

What makes the Cube interesting is the combination: quick inflation, standing height, a broad doorway, and an actual lounging area out front. It suits someone who plans to settle in and enjoy camp, especially if their preferred outdoor activity occasionally involves reading horizontally.
