The older you get, the harder stairs become to go up and down. Sure there are inventions like the UpCart that lets you easily haul things up and down stairs, but what about your own body? This genius new product called the Pilot Step-Up Cane gives seniors, the disabled, or those dealing with an injury a half step in between steps to help them easily go up stairs by themselves.
The step-up cane is around the half the height of a standard stair, so that they can place the half-step on the edge of each step, and step on the cane and then the actual step for each stair they need to go up. This will of course take a while, but it's surely better safe than sorry.
The Pilot step-up cane has a button on the top of it that kicks out a larger surface area to step on. Just hit the button with your foot, and an extra few inches will be added on to the end of the platform for more security while stepping on it.
With the extra surface area retracted, the device acts as a normal walking cane for getting around. This way you won't need a walking cane, and extra assistance to get up stairs, as the step-up cane offers you both support. You can also easily attach the step-up cane to a shopping cart, or electric cart when not in use.
The half-step cane features skid-resistant feet to prevent sliding or slipping when using it, offers a wide base for extra stability and support, along with a second lower hand grip that helps you easily get up from a sitting position. The second hand grip is perfect for getting up from chairs, low sofas, and toilets.
The half-step stair assistance cane measures 31 inches tall x 15 inches wide x 11 inches long, and lets you or a loved one remain self-reliant for longer, knowing you have support, safety, and help while going up and down stairs.
