Pennypult: A Penny Powered Trebuchet That Launches Tiny Objects 35 Feet
By Ryan on 08/28/2015 6:02 AM
The Pennypult is a trebuchet kit that you put together yourself that's able to launch tiny projectiles up to 35 feet away. In medieval times it could take a dozen people working for many days to build a trebuchet, but with the Pennypult you can build one in just a few minutes, granted theirs can launch boulders the size of a sedan a mile away, where yours can only launch a pebble the size of a nickel. Powered by 16 pennies that act as a counterweight for the trebuchet, the Pennypult one-ups other trebuchets on the market by its ease of build and smaller size. Standing just 9 inches tall, the Pennypult trebuchet would make a perfect addition to any office where your sworn enemy currently owns a miniature ballista kit.
The Pennypult trebuchet is laser cut and requires no tools for you to put it together as they will simply snap together. The only challenge is going to be finding 16 pennies... Maybe I shouldn't have been throwing my pennies in the garbage this whole time.
The Pennypult is made from extremely high-quality pieces that are made from brass, copper, rubber, and acrylic, is fun for all ages, is great for physics demonstrations, to launch small items into your coworkers faces, or just as an art piece placed on your mantle above your fireplace.
The Pennypult trebuchet is currently in a funding phase on Kickstarter with an estimated delivery date of November 2015, so go reserve yours now, and be sure to check out the trebuchet in action via the video below.
