This Glowing Beam Bed Makes It Look Like You're About To Be Abducted By Aliens

We've posted a few extra weird beds in the past, including the cat maze bed that lets your cat run around beneath you while you sleep, or even one that has a built in blanket and pillow! But this new bed we found, might just take the cake of weird beds. It's called the Beam Bed, and it features a glowing aura below your bed that makes it look like you're about to be abducted by aliens!

The Beam Bed was actually designed to look like the beams of the sun that are shining out underneath your bed, as if you're sleeping on a beam of sunshine! But personally, the design came out a little more creepy than expected, and I mean that in a good way.

The alien abduction bed was made and designed by the Italian company Lago, who specializes in unique modern furniture, and more specifically floating beds that are designed with secret poles underneath the bed that make it look like it's floating in the air.

The beam bed is made with 18 different boards that are placed vertically out from the center of the bed where a light is placed. With the unique placement of the boards, it creates an incredible eye-catching look when it's dark in your room, and the bed light is on.

"The Beam bed amazes with the particular features of its structure, which is inspired by a figure of elementary simplicity and beauty: the sun. An original system of boards forms the base for the mattress, opening up in a sunburst arrangement from a central fulcrum. The way of supporting the mattress is therefore innovative and unorthodox, but decidedly functional and practical. Beam shows its respect for the environment by making itself as small when it is packaged to be transported. Added to this sun element is a component that produces a strongly scenographic effect: light. The sun beam bed was designed by Italian designer Ewana Robertson, and it's made entirely from real wood!

We don't know specifically how the light on the underside of the bed gets turned on and off, but we can only assume that it has either a button on the side of the bed, or a remote that allows you to wirelessly control the light.

The alien abduction bed is said to be used with a full-size mattress, but  hopefully they also have other options for Queen or King size mattresses!

In total the Beam Bed frame measures 5.24 feet wide x 6.56 feet long x 10.6 inches tall! It also comes with a headboard that measures 29.1 inches tall.

The website doesn't list a price for the Beam Bed as you have to inquire for that, but they do state that the price category is "High".
